We're preppers. There I said it. The ninja and I prep. We are trying to grow as much of our own food as we can; to harvest as much as we can of our own energy and water from the sun and the rain; to reduce our footprint - as much as we can; to enjoy ourselves and revel in our surroundings - into our old age.
But - and here's the thing - we aren't doing it because we are afraid of the world, afraid of the future, afraid of "the other". To be sure, under the worst circumstances, all of those things CAN be scary. But that phrase right there - under the worst circumstances - that tells the story. We aren't prepping to avert the worst circumstance. We do what we do because we want to be a part of creating the BEST circumstances.
Put another way, we aren't prepping to retreat. We are Prepping Forward.
